We want YOU to show us your best #AmericanSelfie

Tasked with creating a social media component for our Summer 2015 American Icons campaign, I pitched the original idea for #AmericanSelfie. The activation asked customers to create and post content of the people, places and things they love about the USA, using #AmericanSelfie. Macy's donated $1 to veteran's charity Got Your 6 for each use of the hashtag on Instagram and Twitter, ultimately donating $250,000 to the organization. The campaign proved to be a huge success. Asking consumers to create content and drive the conversation on social media resulted in over 16,000 uses of the hashtag on Instagram and attracted the participation of celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Britney Spears, Ryan Seacrest and Meghan Trainor. The campaign was awarded Silver at the 2015 Internationalists Awards for Innovative Digital Solutions. Additionally, I won a Macy's Making Magic Award for my work on the project.
