Who said you can't write Instagram captions for a living?
I specialize in writing fun, engaging and millennial-targeted copy for Macy's Instagram account, with over 600,000 followers and counting. Part of my responsibilities as a member of the creative team is to pitch content ideas. Some of my most successful post ideas have been inspirational NYC images and a selfie from Santa, himself.
I have written copy for multiple Instagram advertisements, including one of the application's first Carousel ads. Along with my team, I have participated in multiple private creative sessions at Instagram's New York office. These sessions provided crucial and exclusive insight into the platform and Macy's performance on the channel.
Always stay ahead of the curve.
I assist the Macy's Fashion Office by writing descriptive copy for their internal trend forecast book, The Curve. These descriptions tell a fashion story that is meant to help buyers, marketing professionals and other employees become familiar with the company's fashion direction.
Let's have a parade!
By far the most epic and buzzed about part of my job is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. For the past two years, I have had the privilege of participating in the event on the front lines. Covering the parade on social media takes a lot of preparation, including planning and pre-writing all social media copy. But, there's nothing like the thrill and pure chaos of the big day. In 2014 and 2015, I coordinated and wrote Instagram posts for the event and captured and live posted content from the parade route. This past year, my video post of the Rockettes' performance was featured content on Instagram and racked up almost 50,000 likes.
"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer."
I have translated my love for traveling and knowledge of social media into a travel photography Instagram account. This personal project combines the best of my passion and skills in one pretty little feed.
